Jeremy with his Grandma - 1981
My grandmother, Patricia E. Runnells, passed away last Friday morning, April 17th.
A part of me died that morning with her. She was the mother figure in my life.

Grandma & Jeremy - 1981
We’re sorely going to miss her – her presence, her calls, her delicious dinners, her flowers, her kindness, her thoughtfulness, her stories, her laughter and her love.
We saw her last for dinner just two days before her death. Had I known it would be the last time I saw her, I would’ve hugged her and kissed her longer that night when I said “good bye”.
Grandma wrote a book a few years ago for her children and grandchildren. I quote from her book:
“To this I add my fondest wish and prayer that my children and grandchildren would carry on, living the gospel, being members of the church and assume personally the responsibility of honoring the memories of our noble ancestors by living as they wished us to live, and by fulfilling the hopes they had for us.
“Families can be forever, and because of the great sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the Savior of mankind, the day will come, if we have so lived for it, when we will be joyfully together as families in the eternities.”
I hope to live my life in such a way that honors her and her legacy.
Grandma, I love you and I will miss you.
Until we meet again in the eternities…Aloha Nui Loa.
